KEANU REEVES IN “BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC”!

Well, I am certain that many of you are familiar with the “Bill & Ted” films, within Keanu Reeves‘ expansive repertoire, which have become cult classics throughout the years. And the third film in this installment was released rather recently, which has helped to make these films into a landmark trilogy.

Within this trilogy to the “Bill & Ted” films, Keanu Reeves reprises his role as “Ted Theodore Logan”, and Alex Winter returns as “Bill S. Preston, ESQ.” Not surprisingly, these two vacuous gentlemen are now much older husbands and fathers, who did become rock n’ roll musicians, albeit unsuccessful ones. And unfortunately, they have never discovered the song which would purportedly save the world.

Storyline: “Once told they’d save the universe during a time-traveling adventure, 2 would-be rockers from San Dimas, California find themselves as middle-aged dads still trying to crank out a hit song and fulfill their destiny.” Written by an Anonymous author via http://www.imdb.com

I must say that I was somewhat apprehensive to watch this film because I believed that it would disappoint me, since it has been more than 20 years since the sequel was released. After all, even though Keanu is still my Adorable Muse, he is no longer my fresh-faced youthful Muse. But fortunately, the writers, Keanu Reeves, and Alex Winter’s recent collaboration was quite a success. And I can definitely see why because this third installment is filled with humorous moments; as in the previous installments.

Nonetheless, I must pose at least one query, which may be considered a compliant. Did the writers have to give my Muse a huge beer belly? I mean, Keanu Reeves still has an impressive physique for a 56 year old. And this is yet another reason why I admire him so.

I must say that I was rather taken aback to discover that Orion Pictures is still in business. For, I cannot remember seeing a film produced by them in years, until I saw “Bill & Ted Face the Music“. But, I understood why when I discovered that they are now owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (aka MGM), and have been owned by them since the year of 1997. Well, what good news for the “Bill & Ted” crew, because they were financed, and were able to make yet another landmark film to complete this Blockbuster trilogy.

Overall, this is an entertaining film to watch. I don’t watch comedies often because I favor other film’ archetypes. Yet,I am quite supportive of my Muse, Keanu Reeves; so, “Bill & Ted Face the Music”, became another welcome addition towards my wealth of knowledge concerning his eclectically diverse film repertoire.
