Keanu Reeves in "REPLICAS"!

I am certain that many of you are familiar with an abundant number of films within Keanu Reeves' impressive repertoire. And if you are not, I definitely am, for Keanu Reeves just so happens to be my most endearing Muse. This week, the newly released film, "Replicas", shall be our focal topic of discussion.

Now, "Replicas" was initially due for release during late Summer of the year, 2018. However, after the original trailer was released, the movie launch was re-scheduled. Many were waiting with anticipation to watch it, and so, were equally frustrated and disappointed when its release was delayed for some months.

Several months later, there were quite a number of individuals who appeared miffed and who began complaining about whether "Replicas" was an actual film or a hoax. From some of these complaints, it appeared that there were upsets occurring; as though they were feeling cheated out of a very interesting sci-fi film experience. And most likely, this is where the problem started that would follow the much anticipated film's eventual release.

A new trailer was released and eventually, a new film cover with a dual photographic image of my Muse, Keanu, as a replica or replicant on the left and as a mortal on the right; obviously hinting at a certain element that would occur within the film. Now, I did watch it once it was released, and found it somewhat intriguing. I must say, that unlike many individuals who have been reviewing it, I did not expect a film comprised completely of sci-fi elements.

I knew that much love (as in familial or family love) would comprise this eclectic film. There was love, a mad scientist aspect, suspense, and danger involved; as critical factors of this film. In my opinion, one of the most amusing parts occurred early on; before the car accident. If Keanu's, "Will Foster" character, had heeded his wife's warnings to slow down as he was driving in the rain, the deadly accident would not have happened. This should serve as a warning for many gentlemen to heed their ladies' advice and warnings whilst operating any vehicle. As we all are aware, the male species, frequently and unreasonably, do not want to heed their ladies' advice and warnings whenever they drive their vehicles. This was a rather humorous aspect for me, I freely admit.

One of the most convincing scenes for me was when Keanu, as "Will Foster", was crying in a devastated manner because he could not replicate his youngest child, "Zoe", due to the lack of a requisite number of pods for cloning. This does not surprise me in its realistic appearance (i.e., Keanu's crying) because of a real-life tragedy which happened to him during his younger years. And the scene in the bathroom, when Keanu, as "Will Foster", was retrieving data for future cloning (through his eyeball; no less), reminded me of the scene in "Johnny Mnemonic" when Keanu's character was being overloaded with software data within his brain. It actually felt good to be taken back to that time, in my memory. Anyway, I admit to viewing this film for its make-believe quality and potential futuristic elements. Yet, my own moral compass and religious beliefs do not support cloning human beings. Thus, this is not something I would consider doing for anyone I loved; as I trust in God to determine who shall be deserving of immortality.

You see, in my opinion, a replicant would not be considered a suitable replacement of any individual who passed on that I may have loved dearly (as I feel that anyone I loved so much could never be replaced). But, I am capable of seeing this film as a "what if" vehicle for future scientific discussions, possibilities, and ramifications; and also for imaginative intrigue and fantasy entertainment. Now, as I alluded to earlier, the way "Replicas" was expected to play out does seem to have negatively impacted reviews in how it is being received. In actuality, I was concerned that there would be some negative backlash once it was delayed because so many individuals were waiting in suspense for its eventual release. And this backlash has been unfortunately occurring.

Nonetheless, I find it unreasonable for anyone to expect that all of Keanu Reeves' films should be compared with some of his colossal and phenomenal blockbuster hit films throughout his long-term acting career. I believe that this has been occurring; which is not very fair to Keanu, nor to any actor. He also should not be blamed for any errors committed by anyone in charge of any film's direction and production. For, let us not forget what Amazing work Keanu Reeves did upon the exceptional martial arts film, "Man Of Tai Chi". And he excelled the first, and only, time he directed a film.

And yes, of course, I do realize that everyone is not going to love all of my Muse, Keanu Reeves' films. But, "Replicas" does have entertainment value; for those individuals who find films with eclectic elements intermixed within, engaging to watch. And it certainly does not surprise me that someone like the "Will Foster" character would become unhinged or deranged at the loss of exceptionally-beloved family members...and would not even hasten to make such a momentous decision as to defy all natural laws in order to replicate or clone them (as in "Replicas").
